Describe and navigate the distributed structure of DALMOOC

The course structure is a bit complex at the beginning, it was designed to try to make the students interact to each other in many different communication channels; among all those channels we may find: 

EDX Core 

Which is the core of this MOOC, here we will find several tools that allow the student to get things such: 

• Hangout sessions 
• Video tutorials Lectures (suggested to read)
• Assessments Schedules (indicating when the new lesson will be release and also the due date to complete the assessments) 
• Progress section (students may check their course progress in this section) 
• Syllabus (in this section students may find out the different social media and other tools where all the discussions are being developed) 
• Community (shows a feedback of the main two social media channels where students are discussing course tasks, subjects, clearing doubts, etc; all that happens in those two places are here) 

Artifacts 

It may be a personal blog or documents uploaded in the cloud such as Google drive, students will use this to upload or publish their assessment content and it should be public so everybody else can check on it. 

Social Media

As part of the new things in this MOOC, social media is going to be use to develop conversations, to share material, to share assessments, to meet and to interact with other students and to collaborated, it’s kind of an experiment and it will allow to research the MOOC’s developers the way people interacted with each other when is something about study and not recreational. 

ProSolo 

It is a nice tool, I think it was developed using Facebook as model and it was adjusted it to make a social media portal to study with their proper tools such submitting assessments links, requesting more assessments, meeting people around the world taking the same MOOC, it will help students to measure their progress as well and to collaborated with other students in the area. 



In conclusion the DALMOOC is really interactive course, only those students willing to take time and to participate into the different activities and areas are going get their way through it. The course developers are going to get great data from this MOOCs and depending on the results we will have to expect to see more and more MOOCs with this structure.
